The 2011 Professional Disc Golf World Championships is officially in the books! Paige Pierce battled all week with Valarie Jenkins. Going into the final nine, Paige and Val were all tied up. Paige quickly took the lead after just two holes and never let up. In the end, it was Paige who was crowned the 2011 World Champion, the first of many to come!

Keeping up with the Dynamic Discs Blog is a challenge while on the road. It was a great week out in Santa Cruz, California. I saw so many old friends and met many more. I’m on the plane now trying to wrap up this blog post before we land. The couple hours of sleep that I got last night had me sleeping through most of the travel.

After some amazing sushi, we were off to the Cyprus Lounge where a lot of the disc golfers were hanging out including 2011 World Champion Nate Doss. We stayed out too late and I missed my original shuttle ride to the airport but was able to get it worked out and still made my flight on time!

Back at the shop they were busy keeping up with the tournament and providing live scoring on the DD site amongst many other things. The scoring was a trial run to see what we can do for the Glass Blown Open and other potential big tournaments. We had a lot of people tuned in to the site enjoying the numerous cards of live scoring that we were able to provide. I would say that the trial run was a success and we hope to be able to provide this service more often at larger events.

We have a lot to do this week so I’m looking forward to getting back to work and pushing DD to another new level. The amount of exposure that we received out at worlds was exciting! Our disc golf apparel, CryZtal Z FLX plastic, and custom DyeMax discs were amongst the most popular of items while vending all week out at the course and FlyMart.

Congrats again to Paige Pierce and all Team DD members who did so well at the World Championships. See full results here.
