Woke up at 2:20 this morning to catch the early flight out of Kansas City for the 2012 World Championships in Santa Cruz, California. All went well so I got in to the San Jose airport at 9:30 with no travel plans or a rental car booked. I usually don't plan ahead or even like to schedule things in advance if at all possible. Most of the time it works out just fine:) I ended up taking a shuttle/taxi to the park because the rental car process was a mess and $150 a day!

I'm very excited to be at the World Championships this year, but almost regret the decision to not take the RV out there. Unfortunately the drive is just so far and gas is so costly to get out to the west coast so we made the decision to keep the RV at home. Blake Williams has been selling DD branded items for a while now and will be representing Dynamic Discs all week long at Pinto Lake as well as the FlyMart. I will be helping him as much as possible and look forward to working with Blake to increase the exposure that DD is receiving in the California disc golf scene.

The 2nd round of the Championships was at DeLa Veaga and I had the pleasure to walk the entire round with the lead card that consisted of Team DD members Derek Billings and Eric McCabe! McCabe got off to a slow start but part way through the round ended up getting that world champion putt dialed in! Billings struggled most of the round. Missed putts cost him more than a handful of strokes. A late push got him back in the mix to keep him on the lead card going in to the 3rd round.

From what I understand there are issues with the PDGA site so look for updates on Facebook after each hole as I plan to walk another round with the lead group and will bounce back and forth to the 2nd and 3rd cards.
